Complacency cannot have any headroom if you ever want to strive towards your aspirations. Regular clients and steady stream of income can leave you with a sense of comfort, but be wary of such tidings, as the flipside might just be waiting around the corner. Such situations hold true for a freelancer as well, as your freedom is as good as the next lot of projects. So, take time to introspect and see if you have answer to these questions: What if one of your major client pulls out tomorrow? Will you still have enough work to meet your monthly revenue goals? The freelance business is notoriously unstable, however, you can make your freelance career stable and secure with just a few steps. Read on to know more.

Provide value for money

As a freelancer, your main goal should be to make your clients happy. Word of mouth is all you need to keep your work in the limelight. When you provide your clients with value for money, you automatically gain more business. Always put yourself in your client's shoes. Ask yourself what you can do to make their jobs easier.

Offer additional services

Wouldn't it be more convenient if you get everything you're looking for in the same place? Clients too prefer those freelancers who provide new and additional services instead of those who stick to just one specialty. For example, if you're a content writer, strive to provide SEO-rich content to your clients so they don't have to hire a SEO specialist separately. When you have additional services to offer, you can hike your rates accordingly.

Spread the word

Let the world know what you're doing. Promote yourself in every way you can - both online as well as offline. Tell your family and friends about your past clients and current projects. Market your services on different social networking sites like LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. When you take the effort to spread the word, you attract more clients into the fold.

Collaborate with other freelancers

When you work with freelancers who offer a different skill-set than yours, you expose yourself to more clients. For example, if you're a content writer collaborating with a graphic designer, you are bound to tap into the network that the graphic designer has already formed. This is a win-win situation for both parties involved.

Cut unnecessary costs

If you're hiring an office space that you rarely use, you can start working from home instead and let go of the unnecessary expense of rent. Same goes for clients who don't pay and monthly subscriptions that are of no use. Make a list of all business costs that you have incurred in the last six months and strike off items you don't need any more.

Remember, it's never too soon to improve your freelance business. Use your spare time to get cracking on the above mentioned things and boost your freelance business like never before.
