How this gallery in Jaipur's historic Amer Fort blends traditional art with contemporary expression

Located in the West Wing of the stunning Amer Fort near Jaipur, Gallery Art Chill also has a branch in the city called Juneja Gallery. Founded by Sangeeta Juneja in 1994, the galleries have sponsored over a hundred art shows, participated in the annual India Art Fair, and showcased Indian artists at the Venice Biennale 2014.
Featured artists include Arpana Caur, Subrata Gangopadhyay, Ashok Hazra, Vinita Dasgupta, Ashish Shringi, Vidhya Sagar Upadhyay, Surjit Akre, Shail Choyal, Shipra Bhattacharya, Shuvaprasanna, Sasanka Ghosh, Mukesh Sharma, Abbas Batliwala, and Manoj Mitra; some of them are showcased in this photo essay.
The gallery has hosted exhibitions titled Inner Eye, Live the Heritage, Sublimity Encircled, Divine Hearts of Gold, Banaras Ghats, Solace in Solitude, Abstract Moments, and Revealed Mysteries. The gallery’s creative director Sangeeta Juneja joins us for an interview in Part II of our photo essay, with insights on art trends, opportunities for Indian artists, and the importance of creativity in the global economy.
