I thought to do this writeup for the readers who are consistently struggling to know the best ecommerce platform. Many platforms boasts #1, but there arent many realist features that can append to the tag of #1 by its users, unfortunately these users are becoming the negative review ambassadors for the platform. As always I do my earlier writeup here in your story, I wanted to proceed with my writeup and attriubte this top 3 to a review conducted with a huge sample size of business owners who has tried the product themselves ( as reviewed through g2crowd.com). The datas are emphirical results. Im not favouring out any business/platform though ad hoc citations, though im from webnexs, where we develop ecommerce in with these platforms.

Empirical Assessment of ecommerce platforms are the need of the hour in this competitive turf.

The top 3 ecommerce platforms are

1. Prestashop – powered by symfony framework.

2. Magento – Powered by Zend Framework.

3. Shopify – Powered by Ruby on Rails.

Well, the frameworks donot command the #1 stature for any brand. There are many frameworks which can power the suite, but its obvious, the features and the ease of doing business with the particular software comes to the foreground.Well, at webnexs, we do not restrict ourselves with playing around prestashop development, we have also been providing services in magento as well. This review is to show the unbiased interviews fromgenuine users.

Prestashop:

The forgotten King of Ecommerce for business owners.

The European made software for the world is almost welcomed by the users or store owners, but not popular with developers as this software isnt complicated much on the userfront and provides easy resolutions to the users. Any problems, except much tech nature can be cleared by the store owner, provided he has a little idea on how to google out stuffs. Changing themes is pretty straight forward. Managing this omni channel ecommerce doesn’t eat up your monthly budget. You an run a famous ecommerce store with just 2 GB vps costing a rent of 200 USD/ Year ( rent for your store).

The community of prestashop is much stronger, enviable and it hosts over 250,000 applications in its marketplace. There is no feature which you could think of prestashop, not made available in the marketplace. The growing popularity of the store in the community is consistently on the rise.

2. Magento:

The king of Ecommerce Platform as based on developer community.

Magento is always a welcomable ecommerce platform, much scalable, can handle upto 200 orders per minute simultaneous, provided you have a versatile server supporting this architecture. Your store would be always efficient to handle any number of inventories. But beware of developers. If they arent able to handle yours efficient, I hope you will signal out distress at a stage where you wont be able to allow time to recover back. Yes, when the website is in its full load operation, the codes will start breaking up and you will know nothing on how to manage these instant. So for magento, its always the best, to consult who has done best magento development by seeing their portfolios.

Also, with magento, we have a vast community of members who can serve you with their modules and functions for any requirement you have. The pro would be that, your ecommerce will be sound enough to handle anything needed to run in ecommerce. Also, with the number of extensions and functionalities on the rise, your demand for any number of modules will be met.

3. Shopify.

The legendary saas platform for Ecommerce.

Ecommerce on shopify is getting its tentacles hooked up with major small and medium ecommerce business circles. Though they charge 29 USD in front, they give one of the finest service. You neednot have to worry about the software bugs, the servers, the invasions, intrusions etc. Shopify is launching their modules and many service providers create their modules to capture the market share of shopify and use them for their benefits. Shopify has been empowering over 4,00,000 Ecommerce stores. They are one of the top ecommerce platforms to enter into IPO in NYSE. Their gross merchandise volume is over USD 34 Billion.

They support to run ecommerce with utmost care and you can hardly face any gltich in using their ecommerce. The one disadvantage would be, you have to be tied up with shopify for your business and if you ever wish to quit, you have to leave all in to them and come and start your technology afresh. The review, though points #3 rank to Shopify incomparing the giants, you can trust them for your small business needs, if you need SAAS.
