We started Washingguns with an aim of providing economical laundry to masses. For this first we tried to tie-up with local laundromats and provide them a platform to connect with potential customers. But very soon we realised that doing so we were leaving out a huge chunk of customer base which needed economical laundry solution. Very soon we pivoted our business model and built our own inventory and logistics so that we could provide economical laundry solution to the masses.
The biggest advantage of Entrepreneurship is that it teaches you a lot. We realised that only with inventory model we can also enter into hotels, saloon, railways and aviation industry which require very low turn around time up-to 12 hrs., Also the required quality standard and hygiene can be better achieved in inventory model.
Laundry is something which is day in and out requirement for everybody be it bachelors, working professionals, families or commercial organisations like hotels and restaurant. The estimated size of the laundry market is $36 billion, with the unorganised market valued at less than $1 billion. The sector is fragmented with 7,67,000 establishments, 98 per cent of which are micro-sized laundries with fewer than 10 workers.
