So it’s a bit difficult to open PDF Files in MS Outlook and vice-versa. User can edit files and do all tasks as they want in both software but still, if you are curious to know about how to open Adobe files, then read this article to know the full information.

PDF to PST

To open PDF Files into Outlook, firstly user has to convert it into PST Files. Unfortunately, there is no manual method or codes available to convert PDF files to PST. You can go for some third-party tools to get the job done. Outlook doesn’t build to preview PDF Files but if you want to preview your PDF Attachments from email, check to the given steps.

  1. Firstly, exit from the MS Outlook and Download Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  2. Run the Adobe Acrobat in your system and select it to default program to open PDF Files.
  3. Open MS Outlook and click to email’s PDF attachments.

Microsoft Outlook is an offline tool which saves it files to PST formats. The good thing is that user can open the PDF files which saved in system by converting it to PST extension. So would it can be done?

There are many third-party tools which can automatically convert PDF Files to PST/OST Files without consuming your time. They are reliable and trusted software comes with many advanced features. Always use demo version before buying whole software.

The only mistake that many users made is that they convert PDF to OST but not in PST.

Here before saying other words, let me just explain a bit about OST extension. OST files are known as Offline storage table. And very much similar to PST files. Both are opened in MS Outlook and saved in the user’s system. The only difference is that when the user configures Live Exchange Server it changes the PST files into OST files. And if a user disconnects Live Exchange server then saved OST Files cannot be opened in MS Outlook.

In easy words, Live Exchange server is a bridge which converts OST to PST and opens it to MS Outlook. With the server, user cannot do this task.

So If you accidentally convert PDF to OST files without having an Exchange server, then you might need another step to convert OST to PST files. There are two main methods to convert OST to PST. First is a manual method and second is the Automatic method with is done by some third-party tools.

Convert OST to PST in Manual ways by Archive Method.

OST to PST
  1. Open MS Outlook and click on the File menu.
  2. Click Options and go to Advanced Option.
  3. Click on Auto Archive Settings.
  4. At last, choose the number of days in which user want to run auto-archiving. Select and save archived file or folder and click OK.
  5. Now open the Archived PST and open it On MS Outlook

The above steps are not a reliable option to convert large OST files and important files. This is complex and time consuming for users. In my opinion, automatic methods and OST to PST Converter are best and reliable option to convert OST to PST.

Now you know about how to open Adobe files to Outlook.
