Layer-1 blockchain
has partnered with , specifically with its GARI protocol, to expand its India presence. Aptos has infused undisclosed equity funding into Chingari in order to do so.This also allows Chingari a chance to diversify its base beyond Solana and gives its users options to pick between multiple protocols.
"GARI has a philosophy of being a multi-chain protocol... so this will allow us to expand beyond Solana," Sumit Ghosh, CEO of Chingari, told The Decrypting Story.

In the pipeline are plans to do roadshows, hackathons, and other physical events across India. GARI will also replicate similar products on Aptos, already on its Solana ecosystem, including Decentralised Applications (DApps), wallets, and other products with interoperable features.
The plan, as per Sumit, is to onboard new users to Aptos directly from GARI. It will retain those users who have been on Solana while giving them a bridge to the blockchain via Wormhole.
"Our idea is to maintain the users on Solana on a legacy basis... keep them on the platform as is. All new users who come onto GARI now will directly move to Aptos," he said, adding that it will continue to monitor how things play out on both chains.
"So, on our level, we are essentially hedging our bets and not limiting ourselves to the blockchain," he said.
To date, Chingari has just over 2.5 million users on GARI. Its project is the second most popular on Solana in terms of holders.
Chingari's short video app, where GARI is integrated, has more than five million daily active users (DAU) and 40 million monthly active users (MAU), the company said.
