Mukesh Ambani
Mukesh Ambani is an Indian billionaire businessman, chairman, and the largest shareholder of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). He has an amalgamation of interests in petrochemicals, refining, oil, telecommunications, and retail. He was born on April 19, 1957, in Aden, Yemen.
Mukesh is known for his significant contributions to the growth of Reliance Industries. He played a crucial role in expanding the company's operations into various sectors. He joined Reliance Industries, founded by his father Dhirubhai, in the 1980s. And in 2002, he took over as the Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) after the division of the Reliance group between him and his brother Anil Ambani.
In the 2010s, His focus shifted to RIL's expansion into various sectors, including telecommunications, retail, and digital services. By 2016, he launched Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (commonly known as Jio), a telecommunications subsidiary of RIL. Jio's entry into the market led to significant changes in India's telecom industry, offering affordable data plans and high-speed internet services.
In the 2020s, his focus continues on RIL's digital initiatives and the expansion of its retail business. He has attracted investments from various global tech companies into Jio Platforms.
Mukesh’s family includes his late father Dhirubhai Ambani, mother Kokilaben Ambani, brother Anil Ambani, wife Nita Ambani, two sons, Akash Ambani and Anant Ambani, and a daughter, Isha Ambani. The Ambani family’s influence extends beyond business, as they are also known for their philanthropic efforts, social contributions, and involvement in cultural events.
