Ask Echoing Green Fellowship finalists

Echoing Green, an organization we have both interviewed and posted on, is adding a new twist to their fellowship selection process this year. With twenty-two social entrepreneurs chosen as finalists, EG is asking the public to read their profiles and submit questions. All twenty-two have innovative, new ideas that need critical seed funding to get off the ground. There are a few that come from India, as well.
IndiaGoverns focuses on collecting, analyzing, and organizing development data, such as investments in infrastructure and schools, and performance data in politically meaningful terms. IndiaGoverns then uses community partnerships, mobile phone technology, and the internet to disseminate the information to the electorate. IndiaGoverns also provides a mechanism for collecting citizens’ concerns and needs and providing this information to their elected officials.
Dhruv Lakra – Mirakle Couriers
Mirakle Couriers is a full-service courier company that offers delivery and tracking services to clients in Mumbai. All delivery and back office functions will be performed by deaf employees. In addition to providing job training, Mirakle Couriers provides life skills training for their employees including personal financial management.
Mirakle Couriers will take the lead in employing deaf adults and aims to employ roughly 1 to 2 percent of deaf/hearing impaired adults in every major capital of the Indian states. Mirakle Couriers seeks to become the number one employer for low income deaf adults, generating employment for over 10,000 members of India’s deaf community.
