E Cell IMT GHAZIABAD organized start-up fair 2010 on 30th October 2010

E Cell IMT GHAZIABAD, successfully organized start-up fair 2010 on 30th October 2010. Start-up fair was an effort of E-Cell IMT GHAZIABAD to bring to the fore start ups and give them an opportunity to interact and network among themselves.Event saw a participation of around 40 start ups, venture capitalists and banks. The event was a grand success with startups getting business, networking and funding opportunity.

Event was inaugurated by esteemed dean academics MR R.K CHARABORTY and faculty members of IMT GHAZIABAD. This was followed by a WELCOME address by Mr. A.T. RAMAN, a pioneer of B-SCHOOL rankings in India and a champion enthusiast of entrepreneurship. MR.RAMAN stressed the need for institutionalizing entrepreneurship in colleges across the country and appreciated IMT GHAZIABAD's efforts in bringing up one of the foremost E-CELLS of the country.

This was followed by a panel discussion on "obstacles in reality are opportunities waiting to be tapped for start ups". The discussion was moderated by Gaurav Mishra, cofounder 2020 Social and included Prashant Tripathi, Anustup Nayak and Dharmendra Yahshovardhan as panelists. During the discussion they shared their personal experiences on starting a business, problems being faced while running the business, fear of failure and importance of scaling up and cash management. Also present was famous VC from SETU VENTURES, MR. VIJAY SHUKLA. Mr Shukla explained the reasons for as to why it was tough for start ups to get funded.

This was followed by a keynote address by MR MAHESH MURTHY, CEO PINSTORM and managing parter of Seedfund. Mr. MURTHY enthralled the audience by his wit and charm. He emphasized on what all a start up needs to do in order to make it big. Citing examples from business world he drove home the fact that passion and ability to stick it out was a prerequisite to achieve success.

Next up was a networking lunch presented a unique opportunity for start ups to interact with each other and understand their common needs and issues. all the start-ups were provided with their respective stalls where they showcase their business model to visiting dignitaries and students of IMT GHAZIABAD and others.Post lunch session commenced with a special showcase on "women entrepreneurship". MS SAIREE CHAHAL, co-founder of SAITA CONSULTANCY and MS SHRUTI DHANDA another famous women entrepreneur had a tete-a -tet with audience and told about changed perceptions of women and how women are equal players even in entrepreneurial circles.

MR NISHANT SAXENA ,CEO ELEMENTS ACADEMIA also spoke on the occasion and shared his experience regarding entrepreneurship with the audience. Showcase event of the day was "elevator pitch", where start-ups were given 3 minutes each to promote their start up. START UPS utilized these 3 minutes to fullest and made the crowd aware of their business models.

The event was organised with an aim of providing START-UPS in the country a platform where they could find all that they wanted, be it networking, finance, and other related infrastructure and going by the feedback given by the startups, it was a job well done from E-Cell IMT GHAZIABAD
