Fintech startup Instamojo makes first acquisition, buys GetMeAShop to empower MSMEs with SaaS offerings
With the GetMeAShop acquisition, fintech startup Instamojo's suite of offerings will enable its merchant base to start, manage, and grow in the rapidly growing tech ecosystem.
Technology platform for MSMEs Instamojo on Wednesday announced the acquisition of Gurugram-based Times Internet property GetMeAShop.
Through its first acquisition, Instamojo looks to expand its digital solution offerings to empower its one million-plus merchant base.
Established in 2012, Instamojo began its journey as a digital payment solution provider and has progressively grown into an online platform for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises to start, manage, and grow their businesses online.
GetMeAShop is a holistic SaaS platform, helping SMBs adopt and leverage technology without any prior technical know-how. It includes a website and online store builder, logistics providers, CRM, native Android and iOS mobile apps, social selling via WhatsApp and Facebook, marketing tools, SMS, email, push notifications, and robust analytics.
Speaking on the acquisition, Sampad Swain, CEO and Co-founder of Instamojo, said,

Over the past five quarters, Instamojo also introduced unique credit products and logistics services under the banner of mojoCapital and mojoXpress respectively.
On integrating with Instamojo, Pushkal Srivastava, Founder and CEO of GetMeAShop, said, “We're very excited to join the Instamojo family. Earlier in November, Instamojo launched Credit Book on its Android app, intending to digitise records, saving businesses the hassle of maintaining manual ledgers. It competes with investor favourites Khatabook and OkCredit.

Founded in 2012 by Sampad Swain, Akash Gehani, and Aditya Sengupta, Instamojo in January last year raised Series B funding from Gunosy Capital, Japanese payments firm AnyPay, and existing VCs.
In November 2014, the company raised $2.6 million in Series A funding from Kalaari Capital, Blume Ventures, 500 Startups, and others.
