An IIT-Kharagpur alumnus, Pawan Kumar Chandana has a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and Master’s degree in thermal science and engineering, under the dual degree programme.
Pawan worked as a scientist in the rocket design centre (VSSC) for six years in ISRO, for which he won two innovation awards.
During this time, he worked on the GSLV Mk-III, the largest rocket made in India, for five years. He also worked as a System Engineer for the world’s third-largest solid rocket stage, S200, the booster rocket for GSLV Mk-3.
During his last year at ISRO, he worked as the Deputy Project Manager on the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV).
