The Dreamcatchers Leadership Institute is a vibrant resource center that focuses on personal leadership for children, youth and adults who work with them. The Dreamcatchers Community Youth Institute offers new social tools and strategies for reweaving art, history, culture, the web of human relationships and nurturing natural systems towards community renewal.
Role of the Learning Communities Development Associate
We invite applications from dynamic and committed individuals for this position. This is senior leadership role within the organization tasked with building and managing the Learning Communities Development portfolio. The Development Associate will work with youth workers and adults (who work with children) to hold and host vibrant learning spaces and build a community of practitioners.

Essential Responsibilities
This person will be responsible for training and managing programs that create learning communities amongst children, young people and adults who work with them. It will require encouraging the writings and reflections of field practitioners through publications, to inspire and inform a range of audiences. In addition, the person will also manage demonstratable programs in the field. This person will manage a team in fulfilling the following responsibilities:
– Train to create a new generation of youth practitioners.
– Build body of literature around transformative programming by encouraging youth practitioners to write about their experiences.
– Support and mentor field staff.
– Lead program monitoring and evaluation.
– Integrate key learnings from reviews and evaluations to build a knowledge management system.
– Manage donor reporting and relationships.
– Build strong relationships with partner NGOs and organizations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Strong training and facilitation skills
Experience managing/implementing/developing programs in India with local and international partners
Excellent communication skills and experience working with children, communities and a variety of partners and service providers
Problem solving skills and maintaining feedback loops
Ability to work independently and a self starter
Able to read, write and speak English and Hindi fluently
Demonstrates at least seven – nine years working in the non-profit area
Masters degree in any related field
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
The Learning Communities Development Associate will be based in Mumbai. The appointment will be on a contractual basis for one year, in the first instance. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
