The Dreamcatchers Leadership Institute is a vibrant resource center that focuses on personal leadership for children, youth and adults who work with them. The Dreamcatchers Community Youth Institute offers new social tools and strategies for reweaving art, history, culture, the web of human relationships and nurturing natural systems towards community renewal.
Role of the Learning Communities Field Coordinator
We invite applications from dynamic and committed individuals for the position of Learning Communities Field Coordinator. This is a role within the organization tasked with building and implementing the field level program management portfolio.

Builds: Strong relationships and a network of partner organizations.
Mentors: a team of field practitioners to build solid demonstrable programs.
Enables: program expansion and replicablity.
Essential Responsibilities
The Learning Communities Program Coordinator will work with communities, youth workers and partner organizations to manage demonstratable programs in the field. The person will fulfill the following responsibilities.
– Builds and manages the Learning Communities demonstration programs in the field.
– Mentors a strong team of field practitioners at community level.
– Sets objectives, develops program management systems & work plans and ensures compliance with timelines and quality service delivery.
– Develops an effective communication network and builds strong relationships with partner NGOs.
Monitors programs, reports on project outcomes regularly and implements regular reviews.
– Ensures on-going documentation of children’s and facilitators voices from the field.
– Organizes and delivers training of trainer programs, and co-ordinates the provision of materials for specific training programs.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience managing/implementing/developing programs in India with local and international partners
Excellent communication skills, experience working with children, communities and a variety of partners and service providers
Ability to work independently and a self starter
Able to read, write and speak English and Tamil fluently
Requires at least four years working in the non-profit area with program development
Bachelors degree in any related field
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
The Learning Communities Field Coordinator will be based in Chennai. The appointment will be on a contractual basis for one year, in the first instance. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
