Remembering to love, remembering to live, remembering Mother Teresa
Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu or Mother Teresa as we know her was all of eighteen when she left home to dedicate her life to serve the poor and needy. An epitome of selflessness she was a recipient of the Nobel Prize for Peace and the Bharat Ratna among many other prestigious awards. Her example was followed by hundreds of women, who devoted their lives to become Missionaries of Love and she continues to inspire eighteen years after she passed. Today on her 105th birth anniversary we have compiled a list of ten quotes that are simple but truly inspirational.
“If you judge people, you have no time to love them. We can do no great things, only small things with great love.”
It is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the doing.
“It is not how much we give, but how much love we put in the giving.”
“If you are humble nothing will touch you, either praise or disgrace, because you know what you are.”
Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person.
“Do not allow yourselves to be disheartened by any failure as long as you have done your best.”
If we really want to love, we must learn how to forgive.
“Before you speak, it is necessary for you to listen, for God speaks in the silence of the heart.”
“Where there is great love, there are always great miracles.”
We know that whatever we do is simply a droplet in the ocean. But if that droplet were missing, the ocean would be lacking.
We all lead extremely busy lives today, donning several hats, being accountable for a lot of things and facing tremendous pressure to always stay on top. While trying to keep up with the challenges that life keeps throwing at us, we tend to forget how to live and love. Like every activity that we do at work comes with a set of guidelines, we need to make one for the most important of them all, life. And this set of quotes by Mother Teresa should definitely be among them!
