Flipkart is using automation to deliver your products


Ecommerce major Flipkart dispatches a million shipments across the country every day - using robots and more. The tech-dominated supply chain and logistics network built by Flipkart subsidiary EKART is banking on new technologies like automation and robotics. The company hopes to create a system that is robust, resilient, and scalable so that it can handle millions of products on a daily basis. 




Hotstar crosses 300M users just in time for Game of Thrones


Four years after hitting play, Disney-owned Hotstar has crossed 300 million monthly active users (MAUs), a 4x growth since the end of 2017. At present, India's largest video-streaming service houses more than 100,000 hours of content across drama, movie, sports, and news, including one of the most popular shows of all times - Game of Thrones, and the Indian Premier League.

Licious is grabbing a big bite of the $30B Indian meat market 


‘Would you travel 20 km for a paneer bhurji?’ asks Abhay Hanjura, Co-founder of online meat brand Licious. According to him, foodies would travel more for their favourite biryani or kebab. Built on this emotion, Licious delivers an average of 6,000 orders a day. The startup has since raised over $65 million so far, and has opened an automated factory on the outskirts of Bengaluru for its newly launched range.




Netflix ropes in Shah Rukh Khan, announces 10 new films in India


India continues to be among Netflix's fastest-growing markets in the world, and some of its recent original films here include 'Soni', 'Firebrand', and '15 August'. Now, it announced 10 more, a partnership with Bollywood heartthrob Shah Rukh Khan's production house Red Chillies Entertainment that will be producing Class of '83 (the story of a morally upright policeman-turned-trainer).




Indian solar energy solution provider acquired by Malaysian oil major for Rs 2,700 Cr


Malaysia state-owned oil and gas company Petronas announced that it has entered into an agreement with I Squared Capital, a leading global infrastructure investor, to acquire Singapore-based Amplus Energy Solutions, which has a portfolio of distributed, renewable energy assets in Asia. It has been acquired for Rs 2,700 crore, confirm media reports.

NPCI to adopt Blockchain for a better digital payments infra


The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is planning to develop a resilient, real-time and highly scalable Blockchain solution, using an open source technology or framework or solution. In fact, NPCI also floated an EOI so that bidders can propose their capabilities to develop this Blockchain solution for a more robust infra for digital payments in the country
