TCS to manage Teachers Pension Scheme of UK
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India’s largest IT services exporter, has bagged a contract from the Department of Education, UK to manage its Teachers’ Pension Scheme.
The Teachers’ Pension Scheme is the second largest public sector pension scheme in the UK with over two million members.
TCS will manage the scheme administration services using its BaNCS platform. According to the company, this will enable accurate administration of pension records, payment of benefits, effective scheme finance management, proactive member engagement, and easy access to information.
TCS will deliver a digital-first, self-service pension experience, giving scheme employers and members any-time, any-channel access to their account information, along with personalised insights to help them understand their pension plan better and empower them to make informed decisions, the company said in a statement.
As part of the partnership with the Department of Education, TCS plans to expand its presence in the UK life and pensions industry by establishing a service hub in Darlington.
Bentley Systems unveils new programme for startups
Bentley Systems, an infrastructure engineering software company, has launched iTwin Activate, a 20 week co-development programme designed to accelerate early-stage startups in infrastructure engineering software. The programme, which is organised in cohorts, is managed by Bentley iTwin Ventures, a $100 million corporate venture capital fund that fosters innovation by co-investing in startups and emerging companies.
The iTwin Activate programme supports startups in scoping and building industry-relevant solutions by leveraging or interoperating with Bentley technology through the programme and co-development funding, solutions architecture support, and access to Bentley executives for commercial insights.
“Our first cohort was a small, invitation-only group of four startups focused on the electric grid industry," said Tom Kurke, Bentley’s Vice President of iTwin Ventures.
"We were excited to see the innovative solutions that the startups built incorporating our technology. The projects serve as powerful examples of new capabilities that arise from these collaborations, and in some cases we are already seeing our shared users benefit from these new tools and the efficiencies they unlock,” he added.
