How to make content that is unique and stands out

How to make content that is unique and stands out

When creating content on any social media site you must be conscious of what the viewer will think about it when seeing it. The goal should be to quickly generate an emotion fueled by impulse. The combination of the impulse and the strong emotion can be subliminal but, it can also be the key to putting money in your pocket.

First, you must understand the kinds of consumers you will attract from Pinterest:

1. Approximately one-third of all women in the U.S. have a Pinterest account and are active on the website. Men tend to make up a much smaller percentage of the demographic on this particular website.

2. Research has shown that Pinterest users, when referred to a product, are willing to spend more on said product than if they had been referred by Facebook, Twitter, or any other social media website. The average order value from a

Pinterest conversion is over $80. Facebook come in second, just under $70. That is more than a $10 difference which, may not seem significant but it adds up quickly. A lot of this is due to virality (over 80% of pins on Pinterest are re-pins) and brand engagement, which is generated by the users and their testimonies rather than the brand name itself.

3. When a Pinterest user is scrolling through their crowded feed, they typically go on a journey from “I’m just looking.” to “I know exactly what I want.” There are generally about four different mindsets a Pinterest user will go through before arriving at their definite destination. In the first phase of The Pinterest Experience, the user is simply browsing. Nothing promising but this is just the beginning.

The user then comes across a pin that sparks something inside of them: inspiration. Whether it is a new fashion trend or a cute DIY project, the user has found something they like and they can see themselves with it. This is when things start to get heated. The inspired Pinterest user begins a search for the most perfect item, fuelled by an image in their head. This can go on until the user finds exactly the piece she (or he) was looking for and decides that this piece was worth the time and will be worth the money.

Now, I am sure you are thinking, “This is great but, how do I get the inspired consumer to decide they want my product?”

That’s easy! Pinterest manufactures habits. Every user logs on and begins the process of scrolling, inspiration, looking, and, eventually, finding. Our brains become wired to anticipate the find and we subconsciously rule out anything that does not instantly generate positive feelings within us. Actually, most of the activity on Pinterest is related to an emotional impulse, rather than a logical one. If your content can create a rapid emotional impulse, you have success!

It’s all about appearances. The key to generating revenue through social media, especially Pinterest, is to create content that is unique and stands out but, is also easy to access, simple, and clean. Here are some tips to creating unique content:

Use multiple dominant colors versus just one dominant color. The bright assortment of colors will catch the eye. Also, use powerful, fire colors. Try to stick to reds, oranges, and yellows.

Avoid featuring human faces. This may seem odd but studies have shown that brands who refrain from using a human face in their advertisements have about 23% more traffic.

Minimalism is in. Using sparse, simple backgrounds is more appealing to the eye than a photo that is overcrowded and too busy.

So, how does one go about creating perfect content? There are so many websites and software designed for making beautiful and eye-catching images. Many can be found online and many are free.

One of my absolute favorites is Canva, an online endeavor which allows the users to create beautiful images with gorgeous fonts and powerful aesthetics. Canva is incredibly user-friendly and even offers a short tutorial to demonstrate each of its features. Canva offers millions of layouts, photos, texts, shapes, filters, and icons that can be searched, edited, and compiled into a single image in a matter of minutes.

Another popular image producing platform is Infogr.am which allows individuals to compile data into a fun visual that can be interesting yet, easily and quickly read and just as easily shared. The process is just as easy and equally as free as Canva. Start by choosing a layout, input your data, choose a way to represent the data visually, and publish! Infographics allow for the conveyance of dry data through interactive and responsive means. An easy way to grasp and maintain attention from your readers. In addition to this, you can connect your infographic to live data sources which allow your data to continue updating after the infogr.am has been posted and shared to maintain data that is never stagnant.

Viraltag is yet another online marketing platform for visual content, that strives to increase user engagement by posting engaging visual content on your social media page or blog for you. Not only can you browse through beautiful images but, Viraltag offers a place to consolidate and organize all of your visual media from across the web into a single place.

Additionally, you can add posts to a queue to be published at a later date or time. This feature offers so much flexibility to creating social media that is constantly active and allows you to maintain activity even while you are away from the screen.

Curalate is perhaps the most innovative and useful of these online resources. Those working behind the scenes at Curalate realize that consumer behavior is evolving every day. Curalate recognizes that inspiration is constant and that desire is impulsive. Curalate allows users to manage and cultivate multiple networks through a single platform. A few of its most enticing features include:

Visual analytics provided directly by Pinterest, Tumblr, and Instagram and competitive analytics to compare how your business is doing against others

•Easily collected and moderated user-generated content

•Image scheduling

•User-friendly Pinterest and Instagram campaigns which can be managed directly through Curalate

•The ability to find and follow your best customers as well as those who frequently engage in your content.

For options that include screencasting, offline software is necessary but, this allows for much more freedom and personal customization of your graphics. Two popular and incredibly effective software’s are Camtasia and ScreenFlow. Both options have the ability to capture screen activity with great video and audio quality. Both are feature-rich and easy to use.

While ScreenFlow is available only for Mac users, Camtasia is available for both Mac and PC users. Some argue that

Camtasia is more easily accessible and some argue that ScreenFlow allows a little more in-depth editing and customization on the user’s part. This being said, both programs are equally suitable for whatever screencasting needs you may have.

Hopefully, with these pointers and resources, you better understand how to make beautiful content that effectively draws customers in. With these tools, you can consistently keep up with your Pinterest -specific marketing needs.
