Job Opportunity: Endeavor India, Managing Director position

We recently learned of a job opportunity with Endeavor India, a non-profit organization that offers “high-impact entrepreneurs” the “support and tools they need to scale: strategic advice from world-class consulting firms and from MBAs at the very best business schools; access to capital; personalized mentoring from our pro-bono mentor network; access to our local and international networks; media exposure and case study development; and a community of like-minded entrepreneurs.

Title: Managing Director, Endeavor India
Location: Either New Delhi or Mumbai, India
Purpose: Endeavor India is seeking a Managing Director (MD) to manage and oversee its field
operations in India. The Managing Director will network and work closely with a number of high- profile business leaders across different sect ors of the Indian business community


Requirements
• Strong personal contacts with local business leaders and media.
• Masters degree – preferably in business – with 5-10 years management experience.
• Must have an entrepreneurial personality and the capacity to achieve significant results with
scarce resources, be organized and able to handle pressure under tight deadlines, highly
motivated, comfortable balancing multiple priorities, focused, aggressive, a strategic thinker,
creative, and flexible.
• Strong marketing, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in English. Fluency in
Hindi or other regional language helpful.
• Excellent business judgment: ability to identify and evaluate first-class entrepreneurial leaders
and innovators, companies and business projects.
• Proven management experience: ability to motivate staff and board members, create processes
and procedures.
• Strong commitment to the social and economic development of local country and region.
• Belief in a private-sector development model.
• Knowledge of local country’s economic and business climate.
• P&L background: comfort managing an organization’s finances.
