  4. Click Save

Note: If you are facing difficulties in directly backing up QB files in a CD, you can start by backing up the data into your hard drive. Then use the CD ‘burner’ to back up the file into the CD.

 

For automatically backing up QuickBooks files, follow these steps- 


  • QuickBooks provides two methods to automatically back up your data.
  • Using the first method, you can create a backup file each time you close the file.
  • You have to set up the frequency of QuickBooks creating the backup.
  • The file is automatically saved to your hard drive under the QuickBooks directory named ‘Auto Backup’. 

 

  • The second method allows you to schedule an unattended backup.
  • When you use this method of backup, you don’t need to work on QuickBooks.
  • But you need to remember the fact that the files can only be stored on a local or network hard drive. 

 

Backing up using the first method-


  1. Choose Back Up from the file menu
  2. Click Schedule a Backup tab
  3. Now click Automatically Backup when closing the file tab
  4. Enter the right back up frequency 
  5. Don’t forget to make appropriate sections in QuickBooks Backup Windows
  6. Press Ok. 

 

Backing up using the second method- 


  1. Choose File menu and then select Back up
  2. Now click the Schedule Backup tab 
  3. Click New
  4. Make the appropriate selections in Schedule BackUp window
  5. Click Ok and save the new schedule
