This Mumbai police constable is winning hearts on Twitter for all the right reasons
Rajdeep Gajjar, a resident of Kandivali in Mumbai, was stuck in the middle of a highway with no petrol in his bike, and was helped by a Navi Mumbai cop on highway patrol duty. And Twitter loved it.
Running out of gas in the middle of nowhere can be a nightmare even in broad daylight. And if it happens in the middle of the night, walking alone in the dark in search of a fuel station can be very unsafe, and waiting in the hope of finding help can be equally frustrating.
Rajdeep Gajjar, a resident of Kandivali in Mumbai, faced a similar situation recently when his two-wheeler ran out of fuel late in the night and he was stranded on National Highway-348 in Maharashtra.
A resident of Panvel, Rajdeep noticed the fuel indicator on his bike only when he reached Palm Beach, the road connecting Panvel, near JNPT, reports Tribune.

But to his luck, he met a constable on patrol duty, who went beyond his call of duty to help Rajdeep.
Rajdeep spotted some cops patrolling on the highway and asked them for the nearest petrol station. However, Rajdeep realised the nearest petrol station was six kilometres away, and it wasn’t feasible to reach the place on his bike, as it had only 500 – 600 ml of petrol left, reports Indian Express.
Witnessing Rajdeep’s situation, Somnath Kakad, a cop from Navi Mumbai police, decided to offer some petrol from his own bike.

Sharing the incident on Twitter, Rajdeep said,
“I stopped to ask for the nearby petrol station, which did not look nearby in maps. He selflessly drank the water after sharing with me, and l used the bottle to collect petrol, which he gave me without a single penny.”
He later said,
“We don’t take a moment to defame @MumbaiPolice for their traffic mishaps but shall also thank them for the humanity they do in this super summer. I thank Mr Somanath Kakad who selflessly helped me with the petrol from his own bike when I got stuck in the middle of nowhere.”
The Twitter post, which has now gone viral, prompted the Mumbai Police to come forward and appreciate the police constable.
